There are elections coming up in April. Does any member know who is now going to run and what he stands for?

I am running for Treasurer and would like your support...Ken Twombley is running for President and the current Treasurer is running for Vice President.....

As far as what I stand for is the 2nd Amendment....

Why I am running is because I care about the future of the club and its members....I want this club to be better than it is already.....Bring the family members, more cook outs, fishing derbys, archery contests, etc etc...

I am a man of honor, intergtety, trustworthy, avid hunter, avid fisherman,

Anything else you would like to know please feel free to ask

    Thank you for your support

As I recall, our Insurance Policy was written, based on the club's range rules.

If we want to keep our insurance, we need to conform to the policy's requirements.

If we want to run events that do not conform to our current insurance policy, then additional coverage needs to be purchased.

The Hunter Education program conforms to the Club range rules, and is is covered by the State's Insurance Policy. We did our Due Diligence!

Interesting indeed.....did not realize the "Hunter's Education" was a dangerous endeavor

as it doesn't involve actual discharging a firearm  or handling a loaded firearm  and did

not require any insurance outside the usual "Slip and Fall "clause.

Nonetheless its reassuring that due diligence is alive and well...be safe! .

Regarding what other clubs are doing, I reached out to PEmigewasette Fish and Game, as they have been running Action Shooting Events for a number of years.

    From Pemi:

We have two types of coverage:

    1. Anyone that is running a private event, IE: Boy Scouts etc. they have to provide a certificate of insurance.  This includes anyone teaching safety or anything to do with gums

    2. All club sponsored events are covered under the club’s liability insurance, IE: Cowboy, etc.

    Ok Folks-

It seems by reading these comments.....members have different answers to the insurance of shooting activities, therefore at the next meeting I will ask the board for permission to contact OUR INSURANCE AGENT to come to a meeting ......have the members ask questions., The board can ask questions, etc....HE/She will give the CURRENT LAWS/ POLICIES as it relates to our club and what is needed in order to hold events such as action shooting, Boy Scouts, Hunter Ed etc, etc, etc....and at WHAT COST?? How does the club responsibility, etc...

By doings this, ALL MEMBERS WILL BE INFORMED OF THE LAWS AND POLICIES NEEDED OR WHAT NEEDS TO BE COVERED and by whom...

By having the Insurance agent answer all our questions .....WE AS A CLUB and ALL MEMBERS can vote on and have their say as to whether the COST is too great or what ever comes from the answers should pursue certain events, etc...

I would like this issue RESOLVED ASAP and move forward......

I would also like the name calling, insults, accusations etc etc to STOP!!! We are adults and at the end of the day .....each of us have one thing in common is that we enjoy shooting sports.....

    Final Thoughts,

Please let us all work together, get this issue resolved, move on so we can all enjoy the sport we ALL LIKE...

I suggest that insurance coverage sufficient to cover action shooting and paid by action shooting activities can be acquired without a general board meeting.
