Our next range event will be a Turkey shoot on Sunday Oct 18th @10AM. This is an accuracy shoot using 22LR with iron sights only. There will be 5 rounds for handgun alternating with 5 rounds for rifle. All targets will be placed at 25 yds. Each shooter will get one shot at their target. The closest to the bullseye wins the round. Each winner receives a $10 prize and a spot in the shootout.
This event is open to guests as well as members. If you're reading this you're invited.

Thank you to the hardy souls who braved the cold and showed up for the Turkey shoot today. There was some real nice iron sight shooting going on. It was sad news to tell someone with a shot in the 8 ring that it wasn't the winner and that happened several times today. We also had to have two separate shootouts with two shooters scoring to close to determine a winner and two of them were bullseyes. Todays winners in handgun were John Hoyt round 1 and 9, Jay Longtin round 3, Ann Hoyt round 5 and Al Senuta round 7. The riffle winners were Jason Masse round 2 and 6, Kaitlin Eno round 4 and Al Senuta round 8 and 10. The winner of the handgun shootout and a Turkey was John hoyt. The winner of the rifle shootout and a turkey was Kaitlin Eno. This morning before registration Susie made a pink skirt for the trophy for fair representation of our female shooters. I guess it had good juju because once again we had a male/female shootout for the trophy and the female takes it. Congratulations To Kaitlin for a job well done. The winner of the turkey raffle was Jay Longtin.
A special thank you to Susie for baking beans and whoopee pies for the cookout and Ann Hoyt for the apple pie.
Hope to see everyone at the Poker Shoot next month to end the 2015 range games.

There was no denying Kaitlin today her shooting was superb!

When you are on your game, you are on your game. Congratulations to the new and first "skirt" trophy winner. Ann won the trophy last year but it came without a skirt and she was embarrassed . This year the trophy  did and I'm sure glad I didn't have to take the skirt off in front of everybody had I won it....

Thanks for a fun afternoon to Jim and Suzy and you all..

    Also,

Josh, what was the name of the rail sights on your 10/22 and where did you get them? I found some on Brownells. Could they be the same one?
